Stuff I love about Kamen Rider

Much like my previous post, "Stuff I love about Sentai," this is a post on some of the specific elements of why I exactly love Kamen Rider.




Likable Cast

Much like in my Sentai post, a cast of likable and interesting characters are a must. Cause with fun characters, it can make watching the story be a blast. Some Rider casts tend to have grumpy unlikable characters, or even guys who are just plain jerks, which isn't good at all. But man, when Rider gets a great cast, it's REALLY great. ^__^




Concepts and Premise

Kamen Rider really knows how to set up an interesting premise with plenty of imaginative concepts. Rider has a lot of really cool ideas every single year, making it a very vast and expansive franchise.




Mystery

If handled properly, consistently, well-planned, and exciting, Kamen Rider is absolutely amazing in this area. There's a lot of Rider stories that are mystery driven.




B-Horror

When Kamen Rider tries to add in horror elements to the franchise, imo, it has often done a very good job. I love the way Rider tries to execute it's horror elements. Usually they're the eerie, creepy, and bizarre kind of horror or the tension rising type of horror. It gives off the feel that something dangerous is lurking right around the corner. The executions of horror are often done in many different kinds of styles.  Usually they involve some kind of deceptive lighting, weird camera angles, bizarre special effects, creepy music, etc. This is even better when the monsters or villains are creepy or horrifying. It also helps when the mood gives off a sense of mystery and uncertainty, to the point where it overall feels like there's a sense of doom and struggle.
